I came across Anne via Emilie and Joanna reposting her. I truly think she has nothing on Joanna as she’s produced ZERO receipts for anything she is claiming.
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
It feels like she was building up to some major tell-all exposé of Joanna, but so far there doesn’t seem to be much substance behind it. The overall impression is less of a serious exposé and more of someone who feels hurt and is seeking validation or retaliation.

I carefully worded my question regarding her claims of stalking of a minor and abuse and was met with much hostility which gave me the answer I needed.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
She seems to believe that a woman asking for a 13 year old's social accounts is 'stalking' and 'child abuse.' I said I could understand if it scared her or made her uncomfortable, but I did not agree with those labels.

It’s crazy that women want to make wild accusations online and then get mad and defensive when people ask questions.
│
u/FirmPangolin8868 · public comment
What job situation? I’m so lost. Did someone report her? I know HiH threatened to do that.
│
u/Numerous-Estate6742 · public comment
I’m honestly just so confused. I have followed houseinhorror since the beginning. I just read both Substack pieces from case watcher and I still have no clue who she is or what the beef is about.
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
Beyond that, there still seems to be a lot of speculation and very few confirmed facts.

To be clear, I’m neutral on Joanna.
│
u/FirmPangolin8868 · public comment
I’d like to hear her side of the story before passing any judgement. I’m neutral on everyone.
│
u/Butter_Boom · public comment
Same, Id like to know whats happening without bias.
│
u/Friendly-Function381 · public comment
It’s good that she’s staying calm, but who knows what might be going on behind the scenes. I hope there’s room here to ask a few questions about her as well.

The intention of this subreddit is for all of us curious little internet detectives to think, question, discuss, consider every angle, and practice the beautiful art of healthy open dialogue about a very, very wild adult conflict.

We’re not here to tell anyone what to think - we’re here to compare notes, ask questions, share perspectives, and occasionally stare into the chaos together. Civil disagreement is welcome. Curiosity is encouraged.

In other words, I'm not taking anyone's side in all of this. I was really only interested in that silly House in Habit to begin with.
│
u/sunbeamangelano · public comment
When Joanna's whole page shifted from HIH content to all her own content and to buy my stuff I was put off by it.
│
u/Material-Guide-8712 · public comment
There is a lot on the r/houseonfire subreddit. Truly Anne has produced ZERO receipts about her claims against Joanna. I think there was a falling out and she’s trying to paint Joanna as the villain.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
I tried to ask Anne for context and I was met with such hostility, it was so scary and uncomfortable.
│
u/Numerous-Estate6742 · public comment
Is Joanna a mod at houseonfire? Every conversation I see about this gets shut down quick.

She is not. She didn’t start the sub either, I know there was some confusion about that.
│
u/FirmPangolin8868 · public comment
I think she started it? I only found that out after I got banned from commenting for innocently asking what’s going on between these women - hopefully we’ll find out here.

u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
She did not create it but she was a mod at one time but has recently said she forfeited it and 'deleted her Reddit'.

One part I don’t get is Anne saying she reported Joanna for accessing info about HIH on vacation, but didn’t post about it. But then someone did post the location. Is that correct?
│
u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
I think the claims of illegality sprung from other information Joanna accessed and shared with Anne, although no one has actually disclosed what that info was yet.
Speculation

u/WetTowelMafia · public comment
Anne has talked about this. Joanna used MS Teams chat to share information about apartment.

I'm really confused about this too. I actually never saw that happen so it was news to me when it all came out.
│
u/dallaskailani001 · public comment
I’m very transparent, just ask me instead of speculate.
│
u/Numerous-Estate6742 · public comment
Also what app do they use for chatting? She keeps posting screenshots that look like livejournal.
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
No idea. She mentions MS Teams chat a lot, so maybe that?

It's a screenshot of a downloaded IG chat.

Good luck with this! I hope you can figure it all out because I am still confused. I also hope you are prepared for all the drama these women bring.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
The way I see it, Anne had multiple opportunities to be mature and handle things differently. She chose to be defensive, hostile, unkind, and blast multiple people for disagreeing with her.
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
The goal is clearer understanding through collaborative, critical discussion and open dialogue. Mature adults should be able to do it! We hope!

From what Ive seen it sounded like a chat group formed and that chat group supported Joanna with her Horrors IG. But I could be completely wrong!

This is one of the more helpful breakdowns we have seen so far! Thank you for sharing and for your neutral, unbiased approach in doing so.

I can't for the life of me understand why Anne came at me so hard for asking questions. That was such a turn off and I am seeing it lead to many people feeling soured by her.
│
u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
A quick look at your comment list kinda betrays your claim of neutrality and unbiasedness.
Correction / disagreement
│
u/Material-Guide-8712 · public comment
Here is what I posted on the other subreddit so people can see there is no evidence of Anne’s claims: she’s stalking me/bullying me: provides ZERO receipts showing that.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
I'm really sorry she blasted you on her socials. I know what it feels like and it certainly doesn't help her cause, to say the least.

u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
Said the vacation-rental location looked publicly discoverable and questioned whether that episode was the supposedly illegal access being discussed.

Explained that they had known Emilie and Gap through Kanye-related online spaces and invited people to ask them directly rather than speculate.
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
Said the moderators hoped this community could host the discussion with more maturity than the spaces that had shut it down.
Moderator comment
│
u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
Said their own community had tried to stay neutral and that the competing supporter and critic camps had become exhausting.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
Repeated that questioning Anne had led to a hostile response, a block, and public posts about the commenter, which changed the commenter’s view of the dispute.
│
u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
Challenged another commenter’s claim of neutrality by pointing to that person’s prior comment history.
│
u/Material-Guide-8712 · public comment
Posted a longer critique arguing that the public material did not prove the serious labels being applied to Joanna and treated the visible dispute as a falling-out rather than proof of abuse or stalking.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
Said being posted about on another platform felt frightening and threatening to the commenter.
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
Posted a satirical imaginary report-call exchange to make the point that asking for a teenager’s social-media handle did not, in that commenter’s view, establish child abuse.
│
u/Butter_Boom · public comment
Offered a long, explicitly uncertain theory about overlapping chat groups and online alliances, repeatedly noting that the commenter could be wrong.
Speculation
│
u/PensionArtistic1652 · public comment
Called one of the neutral breakdowns helpful and thanked the commenter for laying out their understanding of the dispute.
Moderator comment
│
u/Aggravating_Being328 · public comment
Said a friendship rupture appeared to sit at the center of the conflict, while adding the commenter’s own theory about later online alliances.
Speculation
│
u/YogurtclosetBulky368 · public comment
Said the repeated public posting about people who asked questions was one of the main reasons the commenter had soured on Anne.
